Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain UI, end-to-end, functional, and integration tests across Linux, Windows, and macOS.
- Analyze test failures, track coverage, and investigate issues across products, infrastructure, and environments.
- Test new functionality with emphasis on complex scenarios, edge cases, risks, and coverage gaps.
- Improve test diagnostics, testing frameworks, and CI/CD pipelines to reduce flakiness and improve reliability.
- Own QA priorities and quality initiatives for the IntelliJ Platform Core team.
- Communicate risks, roadblocks, and investigation results to developers and cross-functional teams.
- Mentor a junior QA engineer through task planning, work reviews, and technical guidance.
Requirements
- Extensive background in software quality assurance and test automation.
- Strong programming skills for developing, maintaining, and debugging UI tests.
- Proficiency with testing frameworks such as JUnit or TestNG.
- Ability to independently investigate and troubleshoot failures across products, infrastructure, and environments.
- Strong ownership, problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
