Base Salary
$119k - $217k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build Android growth and monetization features and experiments covering subscriptions, paywalls, pricing, advertising, in-app purchases, upsells, and upgrades.
- Partner with product, design, data science, and analytics teams to turn hypotheses into shippable experiments and decisions.
- Use AI agents and coding assistants to create specifications, code, tests, reviews, and workflow improvements.
- Instrument experiments with accurate exposure logging and analytics.
- Deliver performant and reliable Android experiences while monitoring startup time, memory, battery, ANR, and crash-free rates.
- Own ambiguous ideas through production delivery, contribute to Android architecture and code reviews, and participate in on-call and incident response.
- Define AI-native Android engineering practices, publish reusable playbooks, mentor engineers, and contribute to technical standards.
Requirements
- 6+ years of Android software engineering experience shipping production applications at consumer scale.
- At least 1 year of hands-on experience prompting, evaluating, and building with LLMs.
- Strong proficiency with Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, the Android View system, Android Studio, Kotlin Coroutines, and Flow.
- Experience with Android architecture patterns and technologies including MVVM, MVI, Clean Architecture, Jetpack, ViewModel, Navigation, Hilt, or Dagger.
- Experience with feature flagging, A/B testing, exposure logging, holdouts, guardrail metrics, and mobile experimentation.
- Knowledge of Android performance and diagnostics, including Android Studio Profiler, Perfetto or Systrace, Macrobenchmark, and Crashlytics or equivalent.
- Experience with Android CI/CD, Gradle, Fastlane, GitHub Actions, Bitrise, or similar tools, plus modular build systems.
- Deep experience with agentic workflows, prompt engineering, context-window management, and MCP or function calling.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with Statsig, LaunchDarkly, Optimizely, Eppo, GrowthBook, Amplitude, Segment, Snowflake, Databricks, Bayesian or sequential testing, consumer subscription or paywall products, Kotlin/Android, Swift, React, mobile open source, or developer tooling.
