Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineers to design, build, and deploy applications aligned with business and functional requirements.
- Develop Java-based microservices using streaming, non-blocking, and reactive programming paradigms.
- Use Kafka, IBM MQ, Kubernetes, Redis, Amazon MSK, and AWS services to deliver scalable systems.
- Participate in domain-driven design, architecture discussions, API design, design-pattern selection, and integration planning.
- Create technical documentation and service APIs using Swagger/OpenAPI with strong logging, auditability, security, and monitoring.
- Participate in code reviews and promote TDD/BDD practices, mock-based validation, performance testing, scalability testing, and resilience testing.
- Lead adoption of authorized AI-assisted engineering practices for code review, refactoring, testing, troubleshooting, and incident/root-cause analysis.
- Establish validation standards for AI outputs, including secure coding, peer review, automated testing, correctness, performance, and security.
Requirements
- Experience with the Spring ecosystem and AWS cloud services.
- Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure input/output handling, resiliency, and security expectations.
- Experience coaching engineers on safe and compliant adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices.
- Experience with Redis, GemFire, or Apache Ignite for caching.
- Experience with Kafka and IBM MQ for messaging or streaming.
- Working knowledge of microservices, REST APIs, SQL and NoSQL databases, and event-driven architectures.
- Practical understanding of CI/CD, DevOps toolchains, and agile, test-driven delivery.
- Demonstrated experience leading approved AI-assisted software development tools for coding, code review, test acceleration, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with trading systems and exposure to the FIX protocol are preferred.
