Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on technical leadership through code contributions, architecture reviews, technical guidance, and coaching for junior and mid-level engineers.
- Design, develop, and implement scalable, low-latency, fault-tolerant data pipelines, real-time streaming platforms, and microservices architectures.
- Plan, establish, enhance, migrate, and operate distributed streaming infrastructure and high-performance caching solutions.
- Research, evaluate, prototype, and integrate emerging open-source data, streaming, and caching technologies.
- Optimize platform performance, efficiency, responsiveness, resilience, and operational reliability.
- Collaborate with engineering, data science, and business stakeholders to translate technical requirements into implementations.
- Drive secure, high-quality delivery, code reviews, testing, engineering standards, and CI/CD practices.
- Serve as an escalation point for complex technical problems and provide hands-on diagnosis and resolution.
- Support critical platform operations through occasional nights, weekends, or on-call responsibilities.
Requirements
- 10+ years of demonstrable, hands-on software development experience, including 3–5 years in a lead technical contributor or staff engineer role within a data-intensive environment.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Expertise designing and implementing microservices, complex streaming architectures, and data pipeline architectures.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java, preferably Java 11+, and significant expertise in Python.
- Practical knowledge of Angular or React and the ability to contribute across multiple technology stacks.
- In-depth hands-on experience with Apache Flink, including Flink SQL, DataStream API, state management, infrastructure, maintenance, and migration strategies.
- Deep practical expertise with Redis, including data structures, caching, pub/sub, cluster operations, enhancement, and migration strategies.
- Extensive experience with distributed systems, Apache Kafka, and large-scale data storage and querying systems such as Trino, Pinot, Druid, and Ignite.
- Experience designing, implementing, and operating cloud-native applications deployed through Kubernetes, OpenShift, or ECS.
- Ability to provide technical direction, coach engineers through hands-on collaboration, communicate complex concepts, and define long-term technical strategies.
- Experience driving CI/CD strategies and familiarity with TeamCity, SonarQube, Jenkins, and Git.
- Strong software engineering practices, including architectural patterns, coding standards, code review, unit testing, integration testing, and SDLC experience in an Agile environment.
- Experience with LLM fine-tuning, prompt engineering, and application integration is a plus.
