Engineer - Embedded SW Development
GE VernovaResponsibilities
- Design and implement embedded software for Mark VIe controllers and systems.
- Develop, test, debug, integrate, and validate system-level embedded software.
- Improve the efficiency, stability, and scalability of embedded system resources.
- Collaborate with hardware engineering teams on hardware-software integration.
- Evaluate third-party and open-source software components for suitability, security, and compliance.
- Develop and execute automated unit and regression test suites.
- Collaborate with global cross-functional teams and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 3–5 years of professional experience in embedded software programming.
- Hands-on experience developing and troubleshooting on embedded targets or hardware.
- Strong proficiency in C or C++, with C++ preferred.
- Experience with preemptive, multitasking real-time operating systems; QNX RTOS experience is preferred.
- Experience developing automated unit tests for C/C++ applications.
- Familiarity with software configuration management tools, defect tracking systems, and peer review practices.
- Exposure to C# development is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, prioritization, and quality-focused skills.
