Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain embedded firmware using C/C++ for thermal portfolio products.
- Develop software for Burner Management Systems, Combustion Controllers, Flame Monitoring Systems, and related control platforms.
- Participate in requirements analysis, software architecture, design reviews, implementation, and verification activities.
- Collaborate with systems, hardware, safety, product, and global engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle.
- Perform debugging, root cause analysis, and issue resolution for field and product defects.
- Integrate software with sensors, actuators, flame detection devices, ignition modules, and communication interfaces.
- Support product validation, certification, and compliance activities.
- Improve software quality through code reviews, static analysis, unit testing, and automation.
- Prepare technical documentation, design specifications, and test reports.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Computer Science, Embedded Systems, or a related engineering discipline.
- 3 to 6 years of experience in embedded software development.
- Strong proficiency in Embedded C programming and experience with microcontroller-based system development.
- Knowledge of RTOS concepts, including tasks, scheduling, semaphores, queues, and synchronization mechanisms.
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills using JTAG, Trace, and embedded debugging tools.
- Experience with UART, SPI, and I2C communication protocols; Modbus experience is preferred.
- Understanding of hardware-software interaction and device-driver development.
- Familiarity with Git and software configuration management tools.
- Knowledge or exposure to burner management, combustion control, flame detection, ignition and safety controllers, industrial burners, thermal process control, boilers, furnaces, process heating, or combustion-related industrial safety standards.
- Preferred experience includes combustion principles, burner operation, control systems, closed-loop control algorithms, industrial communication protocols, IEC 61508 Functional Safety, model-based design tools, Embedded Linux, Python scripting, and test automation.
