Responsibilities

  • Define and drive technical roadmaps for payments transformation and modernization initiatives.
  • Design scalable, secure, cloud-native, microservices-based payment solutions and integration strategies.
  • Lead migrations from legacy systems to modern API-driven architectures.
  • Provide expertise in ACH, RTGS/Wires, SWIFT, ISO 20022, UPI, real-time payments, and payment messaging standards.
  • Optimize performance, reliability, and fault tolerance for high-volume payment transactions.
  • Ensure architectural consistency, regulatory compliance, and security best practices across payment platforms.
  • Advise leadership and influence technical decisions across multiple enterprise groups.
  • Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, and engineering teams to align solutions with business goals.
  • Mentor senior engineers and promote coding, design, architecture, automation, and performance best practices.
  • Drive innovation involving blockchain, AI-based fraud detection, digital wallets, GenAI, Agentic AI, Copilot, and automation.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
  • Expertise in cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Strong programming skills in Java, Python, or similar languages.
  • Experience with microservices architecture, API design, containerization, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Knowledge of payment messaging standards including ISO 8583 and ISO 20022.
  • Experience with payment platforms, payment gateways, third-party integrations, and real-time payment systems.
  • Knowledge of AML, PCI DSS, security practices, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder management, consensus-building, and technical influence skills.
