Base Salary
$144k - $194k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the design, delivery, launch, and ongoing operation of major Human in the Loop platform components.
- Help decouple HITL into a standalone platform by defining service contracts and an extension model for new bots and use cases.
- Make architectural decisions involving latency, reliability, failure handling, and real-time customer conversation paths.
- Partner with applied scientists to productionize machine learning and generative AI components, including serving, evaluation, and fallback behavior.
- Own operational metrics, alarms, on-call responsibilities, and root-cause analysis for platform systems.
- Participate in design and code reviews, mentor engineers, and contribute to engineering standards.
- Collaborate with product managers, scientists, and dependent teams to turn ambiguous customer experience problems into technical plans.
- Contribute to roadmap and planning by identifying technical investments and potential blockers.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- At least 2 years of non-internship experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- At least 2 years designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded, or distributed software applications using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
- At least 2 years of object-oriented design experience.
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
- Preferred: at least 3 years covering the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Preferred: knowledge of machine learning model architecture and inference.
