Base Salary
$144k - $194k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate production agentic AI systems, including agent runtimes, MCP tool servers, retrieval pipelines, guardrails, and evaluation harnesses.
- Own hybrid retrieval and ranking quality, including semantic and keyword retrieval, relevance signals, reranking, and offline and LLM-as-judge evaluation.
- Productionize machine learning models with training pipelines, feature engineering, SageMaker Feature Store, real-time inference APIs, and safe deployment gates.
- Build and scale serverless data pipelines over billion-row datasets with ingestion connectors, transformation orchestration, migration validation, parallel runs, and rollback strategies.
- Improve instrumentation, alarms, data-quality and freshness observability, runbooks, load testing, game-day testing, and on-call operations.
- Write design documents, drive code reviews, make architecture tradeoffs, and own systems through production.
- Extend and use agentic development tooling in an AI-native engineering environment.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- At least 2 years of non-internship experience designing or architecting new and existing systems for reliability and scale.
- At least 1 year of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
- At least 1 year designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded, or distributed software applications using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
- At least 1 year of object-oriented design experience.
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
- Preferred: at least 3 years of full software development lifecycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Preferred: experience designing applications with AWS services such as Lambda, AWS Elastic Beanstalk, or Kubernetes.
- Preferred: experience training and deploying machine learning systems, developing and deploying LLMs in production on GPUs, Neuron, TPU, or other AI acceleration hardware, or programming in Java, C++, or C# with object-oriented design.
- Preferred: experience with SQL, AWS Redshift, data warehouse performance tuning and scaling, operations and on-call support, technical team leadership, internships or coding competitions, publications, automation, or version control tools.
