Responsibilities
- Own and operate Kubernetes-based ML platforms on EKS supporting LLM inference, distributed compute, workflow orchestration, and GPU workloads.
- Design and maintain multi-cloud infrastructure across AWS, GCP, and Azure using Kubernetes, Terraform, Helm, and ArgoCD.
- Drive GitOps adoption, platform standardization, reusable infrastructure patterns, Helm charts, and deployment workflows across product teams.
- Manage Kubernetes cluster lifecycle, autoscaling, multi-tenancy, workload isolation, service mesh, and internal developer platform capabilities.
- Build observability infrastructure for metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, and OpenTelemetry instrumentation.
- Define SLIs, SLOs, and error-budget policies; lead incident response and post-mortems while improving reliability toward 99.9%+ uptime.
- Implement Kubernetes cost attribution, chargeback, workload right-sizing, and cloud cost optimization strategies.
- Manage AWS multi-account governance, identity and SSO infrastructure, security controls, and compliance and audit support.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of hands-on platform, DevOps, or SRE experience in production environments.
- Strong Kubernetes expertise covering cluster operations, Helm, RBAC, autoscaling, EKS, multi-tenancy, and workload isolation.
- Advanced Terraform and Ansible experience managing large, multi-environment infrastructure-as-code codebases.
- Strong AWS experience with EC2, EKS, S3, RDS, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, Control Tower, and GuardDuty; GCP or Azure exposure is a plus.
- Experience with ArgoCD, Bitbucket Pipelines or Jenkins, and GitOps workflows at team scale.
- Hands-on observability experience with Prometheus, Grafana, and at least one of Loki, Tempo, OpenTelemetry, Datadog, or ELK.
- Python and Bash scripting experience for tooling, automation, and platform integrations.
- Strong understanding of networking, security, and cloud cost management in Kubernetes environments.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related engineering discipline.
- Preferred qualifications include ML serving, Apache Airflow, Dask, Backstage, Istio or Envoy, FinOps, OIDC identity providers, cloud certification, and geospatial or satellite-imagery workload experience.
