Responsibilities
- Partner directly with Apple engineering teams to understand traffic architectures, application topologies, and networking requirements.
- Design concrete integration paths onto Apple's managed traffic products.
- Translate ambiguous customer requirements into clear technical plans.
- Identify and help close product feature gaps.
- Present technical solutions to engineers with varying levels of seniority.
- Support live customer-facing services and drive multi-team initiatives to completion.
Requirements
- Solid networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, and TLS/mTLS.
- Hands-on Kubernetes experience, particularly with ingress and egress traffic patterns.
- Working knowledge of Envoy and service mesh technologies such as Istio or Linkerd.
- Ability to gather customer requirements and translate them into clear technical plans.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience presenting technical solutions.
- Preferred experience with load balancing strategies, service discovery, and rate limiting at scale.
- Preferred experience designing distributed systems and analyzing performance or reliability issues.
- Familiarity with network-related API design and inter-process communication, including sockets, gRPC, and message queues.
- Experience supporting live customer-facing production services and working across competing priorities.
- Experience with traffic solutions over third-party cloud providers is a plus.
