Base Salary
$120k - $261k/yr
Responsibilities
- Determine user requirements and develop features in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Identify dependencies and create design documents for product areas with limited oversight.
- Design, implement, and reuse code for products, services, and features.
- Break larger work items into smaller tasks and provide estimates.
- Serve as a Designated Responsible Individual for on-call monitoring and restoration of systems and services.
- Improve product availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, performance, monitoring, and operations at scale.
- Build and operate KubeVirt and KVM-based virtualization platforms on Kubernetes and contribute to hybrid-cloud infrastructure.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 4+ years of technical engineering experience with coding, or equivalent experience.
- Coding experience with languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Golang, or Python.
- Experience with containers and Kubernetes.
- Ability to engage in site-reliability engineering practices, with demonstrated problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Experience building RESTful services and developing software hosted in Azure, AWS, or similar cloud platforms.
- Experience with Linux virtualization technologies including QEMU, KVM, libvirt, and virtio.
- Experience with hypervisor architecture, VM lifecycle management, CPU and memory virtualization, NUMA, SR-IOV, and device passthrough.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
- Preferred qualifications include a master's degree with 4+ years of experience, or a bachelor's degree with 6+ years of experience, or equivalent experience.
Benefits
- The typical U.S. base pay range is USD $119,800-$234,700 per year, with a separate $160,200-$261,000 range for specified San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan area locations.
- Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
- The position is open for a minimum of 5 days and accepts applications on an ongoing basis until filled.
