Base Salary
$145k - $185k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop technical designs and specifications, contribute to software architecture decisions, and make complex system-level design decisions.
- Build, test, maintain, debug, and support embedded software product modules, components, and subsystems.
- Lead complex engineering projects by scoping work, resources, schedules, and risks.
- Provide technical supervision and advice to a small team of engineers and coordinate outside resources.
- Conduct root-cause failure analysis, design studies, sustaining activities, and technical support for other departments.
- Maintain software documentation and develop software schedules while recommending efficiency improvements and risk mitigations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer or electrical engineering or equivalent required; a master’s degree is preferred.
- 20 or more years of related experience and/or training required, with an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted.
- At least 10 years of experience with C and/or C++ required; 10 or more years of C++ experience preferred.
- Experience leading a small team of three to four engineers required.
- Strong proficiency in complex software design, troubleshooting, testing, embedded Linux development, unit testing, and test automation.
- Understanding of microprocessor hardware architectures, preferably ARM, embedded user-interface design, electrical and mechanical design troubleshooting, and systems-engineering processes.
- Experience with in-circuit emulators, engineering laboratory equipment, and IEC medical software standards or other software quality standards.
- Project management, systems engineering, medical-device, and handheld or wearable-device experience preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and strong code-style practices.
