Responsibilities
- Own the architecture and end-to-end development lifecycle of complex embedded control systems and firmware.
- Lead functional and safety requirements elicitation and drive system performance, reliability, and safety.
- Perform system bring-up, commissioning, root cause analysis, troubleshooting, automated testing, and live testing.
- Provide technical feedback through peer reviews and communicate technical status and decisions to stakeholders and leadership.
- Drive firmware deployment and system commissioning in real-world field environments.
- Mentor engineers or serve as a technical or engineering team lead.
Requirements
- Require 7+ years of professional experience delivering production embedded firmware for motor control systems.
- Require end-to-end software development lifecycle ownership in robotics or industrial automation.
- Require expert software architecture and C/C++ development for resource-constrained embedded systems.
- Require hands-on expertise with ARM architecture, processor peripherals, SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, and EtherCAT.
- Require extensive production experience with real-time operating systems such as FreeRTOS.
- Require authoritative expertise in Field-Oriented Control and advanced motor-control strategies.
- Require experience with power electronics, schematic reading, and collaboration with hardware engineers.
- Require a demonstrated record as a mentor, tech lead, or engineering team lead.
- Preferred: knowledge of IEC 61508, Safety Integrity Levels, and the full functional-safety lifecycle.
- Preferred: embedded-systems cybersecurity knowledge, bootloaders, firmware update mechanisms, and robotic control-systems architecture experience.
- Preferred: model-based development and code generation experience with MATLAB/Simulink.
- Preferred: experience with continuous integration and automated testing.
