Responsibilities
- Design, build, deploy, and operate high-throughput, resilient Java and Spring Boot microservices.
- Develop event-driven services using Solace topics, queues, durable subscriptions, replay, and error-handling patterns.
- Build and maintain backend APIs, including REST services, API versioning, OpenAPI/Swagger documentation, OAuth2, and JWT security.
- Set up development environments and infrastructure using Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Ansible, and Azure DevOps.
- Work with PostgreSQL on schema contributions, query optimization, and Flyway or Liquibase migrations.
- Develop automated and behavior-driven tests using Cucumber, Gherkin, and Spring test context integration.
- Create dashboards and alerts and support metrics, logging, and distributed tracing using the stated observability tools.
- Review code, analyze test results, remediate vulnerabilities, respond to incidents, and improve reliability, quality, and delivery speed.
- Collaborate with the development team on software development activities and technical problem resolution.
Requirements
- BE, BTech, or MCA degree.
- At least 7 years of Java development experience.
- At least 4 years of experience running Spring Boot microservices in production.
- Strong knowledge of Java 11, 17, or 21, concurrency, the memory model, clean code, SOLID principles, design patterns, performance profiling, and heap/thread dumps.
- Experience with Spring Boot, MVC, Data JPA, Security, Spring Cloud, Config, Gateway, Eureka or Consul, and Resilience4j.
- Knowledge of REST principles, API versioning, OpenAPI/Swagger, OAuth2, and JWT.
- Awareness of OWASP, dependency vulnerability management, and secrets management with Vault, Jasypt, or an equivalent.
- Experience with BDD using Cucumber, Gherkin, step definitions, runners, and Spring test context integration.
- Experience with Solace PubSub+ topics and queues, durable subscriptions, replay, dead-letter or error queues, and acknowledgement modes.
- Experience with Git workflows, pull requests, Jenkins pipeline-as-code, Ansible playbooks, Docker, Kubernetes deployments, and Kubernetes probes.
- Experience with Grafana, Prometheus, PromQL, Loki, LogQL, Zipkin, Sleuth, or OpenTelemetry.
- Knowledge of Python or another scripting language for automation is preferred.
- Experience with APM and incident management tools, including Datadog and Jira Service Management, is a plus.
