Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and own high-performance, scalable data-platform components.
- Build, deploy, and optimize streaming infrastructure and distributed data services.
- Collaborate with engineering teams, architects, and cross-functional partners on system design and implementation.
- Participate in design reviews, code reviews, technical analysis, and performance tuning.
- Debug production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack.
- Coach and mentor engineers to help scale the engineering organization.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of software development experience.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language and familiarity with multiple backend languages, preferably Java, TypeScript, Ruby, Go, or Python.
- Experience with at least one of MySQL, Redis, or PostgreSQL.
- Knowledge of computer science fundamentals and strong API design skills.
- Comfort working on geographically distributed teams with ownership, accountability, attention to detail, and customer focus.
- A track record of delivering incrementally and iterating based on feedback.
- Comfort with React or similar frontend UI technologies, or willingness to learn.
- Preferred experience includes cloud-based distributed computing, messaging and data-processing systems, storage and compute systems, coordinators and schedulers, security or identity infrastructure, major public cloud providers, large-scale data integration, batch and online systems, and high-volume distributed systems.
