Responsibilities
- Define BambooHR’s technical strategy for intelligent product experiences.
- Architect and guide delivery of secure, reliable, observable, and maintainable AI-powered capabilities at scale.
- Build production AI systems with prompt and version management, evaluation and regression testing, drift and quality monitoring, and cost-performance optimization.
- Establish responsible AI practices covering privacy, data handling, model risk, and human-in-the-loop workflows.
- Define incremental architectural changes and longer-term advancements while minimizing risk.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to determine architectural priorities.
- Build, fix, and improve high-value code.
- Train team members on development practices, new techniques, AI patterns, and lessons learned.
- Help the team build software with confidence.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a technology-related field or equivalent certification in development.
- At least 10 years of engineering experience, including at least 7 years in software architecture.
- Experience developing SaaS software with coding languages and technologies including React, PHP, and MySQL, plus the ability to learn new languages quickly.
- Experience across the full software development lifecycle, including version control, build management, unit testing, and API paradigms.
- Experience deploying solutions and provisioning environments using best-practice solutions.
- Experience with CI/CD and deployment systems.
- Knowledge of security best practices, including the OWASP Top 10.
- Familiarity with static analysis and code scanning.
- Experience delivering AI-backed features end-to-end in production, including integration with LLM APIs or ML Services and iteration based on evaluation data and user impact.
- Ability to provide technical leadership in ambiguous problem spaces, make sound tradeoffs, mentor others on AI patterns, and improve code quality and operational excellence.
- Exceptional communication, collaboration, and feedback skills.
