Responsibilities
- Build AI-native self-service experiences with Amazon Connect AI agents, Amazon Q in Connect, Amazon Bedrock, Claude, prompts, tool calling, guardrails, and multi-agent orchestration.
- Engineer and operate Amazon Connect contact flows, routing, Cases, Tasks, Contact Lens, Customer Profiles, workforce management integrations, outbound campaigns, and analytics data lakes.
- Build React-based Agent Workspace and admin tooling with the Amazon Connect Streams API and CRM integrations.
- Develop serverless, event-driven systems using Lambda, EventBridge, Step Functions, SQS/SNS, DynamoDB, Kinesis, and related AWS services.
- Author infrastructure as code with AWS CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform and maintain GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines and automated test suites.
- Instrument monitoring and alerting, debug production issues, participate in incident triage, and support phased production rollouts and contact center migrations.
- Work directly with customer engineering teams through integrations, technical working sessions, demos, knowledge transfer, and implementation-focused pre-sales support.
- Review code, mentor junior and mid-level engineers, contribute to architecture decisions, and create reusable internal engineering assets.
Requirements
- 7+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, including 2+ years building on Amazon Connect or comparable enterprise CCaaS platforms.
- Strong current experience with Amazon Connect contact flows, routing, Cases and Tasks, Contact Lens, Customer Profiles, Streams API, and Connect analytics.
- Hands-on conversational and generative AI experience with Amazon Lex, Amazon Bedrock, Amazon Q in Connect, or equivalent, including prompt engineering and tool calling.
- Strong TypeScript/Node.js and Python skills, production React experience, and AWS serverless engineering experience with Lambda, EventBridge, API Gateway, DynamoDB, Step Functions, and Kinesis.
- Infrastructure-as-code proficiency with AWS CDK or Terraform, including multi-account deployment patterns.
- Experience shipping and supporting production systems, automated testing, observability instrumentation, and full-stack incident debugging.
- Strong communication and customer-facing composure, including the ability to demo work, explain trade-offs, and run working sessions with client engineers.
- Preferred qualifications include AWS certifications, contact center migration experience, regulated-industry experience, contact center operations knowledge, AI observability or accessibility engineering experience, and consulting or client-delivery experience.
