Responsibilities
- Lead architecture, design, and hands-on implementation of large-scale distributed systems and modern web applications.
- Drive technical strategy, architecture reviews, engineering standards, coding practices, and product and platform roadmaps.
- Design and develop scalable microservices, RESTful APIs, event-driven architectures, and resilient backend systems.
- Collaborate with platform teams to improve cloud infrastructure, operational excellence, application performance, and system reliability.
- Implement monitoring, logging, tracing, and other observability solutions.
- Mentor senior engineers and contribute to technical growth across engineering teams.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and participate in strategic planning, technical roadmaps, and innovation initiatives.
- Collaborate with Product Management, Architecture, Security, DevOps, and Engineering teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 12+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 5 years in technical leadership roles.
- Proven experience designing and delivering enterprise-scale software solutions.
- Deep expertise in software architecture, distributed systems, cloud-native development, and Core Java, including concurrency, multithreading, generics, collections, JVM internals, garbage collection, and memory management.
- Strong understanding of operating systems, containers, hypervisors, RESTful API design, microservices, event-driven architecture, and service-to-service communication.
- Experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP; Kubernetes and container orchestration; CI/CD pipelines; and infrastructure as code.
- Expertise in SQL and NoSQL database design, data modeling, indexing, and performance optimization.
- Understanding of system reliability, observability, monitoring, logging, distributed tracing, security practices, authentication, authorization, encryption, and secure software development.
- Experience analyzing, tuning, and troubleshooting system performance in production environments.
- Understanding of AI-powered applications, AI agents, agentic workflows, LLM-based solutions, MCP, tool-calling frameworks, RAG architecture, prompt engineering, and AI system evaluation.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
