Base Salary
$100k - $171k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services and RESTful APIs supporting enterprise payment and claims solutions.
- Contribute to the architecture, development, and operation of scalable microservices and distributed systems.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to deliver customer-focused solutions.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and support applications in production environments.
- Apply clean code, test-driven development, automated testing, code reviews, security, and other engineering best practices.
- Help drive Agile team ceremonies, continuous improvement, and the technical direction of the platform.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of software development experience using Java and J2EE technologies, including Spring Boot, Spring Data, Spring IoC, Spring Security, and Spring AOP.
- Experience designing and building RESTful APIs, including Swagger/OpenAPI documentation, versioning, service discovery, testing, and microservice architectures.
- Understanding of object-oriented design, software design patterns, and modern software development practices.
- Experience with relational database schema design, indexing, query optimization, and SQL development.
- Experience with automated testing and TDD using JUnit, Selenium, JBehave, or similar tools.
- Experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices using GitHub, Jenkins, SonarQube, Gradle, Maven, or equivalent technologies.
- Experience deploying and operating containerized applications using Kubernetes, Docker, or similar platforms.
- Experience supporting production services with observability and monitoring tools such as Datadog.
- Experience working in Agile, Scrum, or XP environments.
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Preferred: 5 or more years of experience, high-volume distributed systems expertise, Kafka or event-driven architecture experience, cloud platform experience with AWS, PCF, or Azure, application security tooling experience with SonarQube, Fortify, or Contrast, and exposure to JavaScript, React, or Angular.
