Base Salary
$150k - $210k/yr
Responsibilities
- Implement, debug, and optimize VLA, diffusion/flow-matching policy, and world-model architectures.
- Build and maintain scalable training and evaluation infrastructure for Robot Foundation Models and on-robot deployment stacks.
- Architect and operate data pipelines using simulation, generative AI, teleoperation, and real-world data collection for robot model training.
- Bring up robot platforms, debug real-world failures, and close the loop between simulation and deployment.
- Collaborate with research teams and hardware partners to integrate embodied AI systems into LG’s consumer ecosystem.
- Contribute engineering input to technical roadmaps and own infrastructure and tooling used by the broader research organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant industry or research experience, or a master’s degree with 3+ years of relevant industry or research experience, in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Strong software engineering proficiency in Python or C++ and experience spanning data pipelines through deployed models.
- Hands-on experience training or deploying Robot Foundation Models, building robot-learning data pipelines, or developing robot-system infrastructure.
- Experience with robot manipulators or mobile robots, RGB/depth cameras, and force/torque or tactile sensors.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate with research scientists to translate ideas into shipped systems.
- Familiarity with robot-learning research literature, including world models, spatial intelligence, or learning from demonstration, is preferred.
- Contributions to open-source robotics or machine-learning infrastructure tooling are preferred.
- A PhD is preferred but not required.
