Base Salary

$189k - $291k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Define technical strategy and architecture for DevOps, CI/CD, and build platforms supporting VCU/CCU infotainment systems.
  • Design and optimize CI/CD pipelines for embedded Linux and Yocto builds, including orchestration, test automation, artifact management, and release workflows.
  • Improve build performance and reliability through distributed build systems, caching, and infrastructure optimization.
  • Automate branching, versioning, artifact promotion, quality gates, compliance checks, and other release processes.
  • Build self-service platforms, tooling, dashboards, and GitHub automation to improve developer productivity.
  • Establish observability using metrics, logs, dashboards, alerting, incident response, and root cause analysis.
  • Apply AI/ML techniques to predictive build failures, intelligent test selection, resource optimization, anomaly detection, and incident prevention.
  • Lead cross-functional technical initiatives from concept through production, including architecture reviews and trade-off communication.
  • Mentor engineers on CI/CD, build engineering, and infrastructure practices, and contribute to code reviews, hiring, and team development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering, DevOps, build engineering, platform engineering, or release engineering roles aligned with staff-level scope.
  • Experience leading large technical initiatives across multiple teams from design through production rollout.
  • Strong experience designing and operating scalable CI/CD systems and developer platforms.
  • Knowledge of Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar build and automation tooling.
  • Experience with embedded Linux build systems, cross-compilation environments, or complex platform build pipelines.
  • Strong programming and scripting skills in Python, Bash, Groovy, or similar languages.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and at least one major cloud platform.
  • Hands-on experience with observability tooling for metrics, logging, tracing, dashboards, and alerting.
  • Strong architectural thinking across APIs, workflows, integrations, automation, and system reliability.
  • Ability to mentor engineers, influence architecture, and drive execution in a matrixed organization.
  • Preferred experience includes automotive, embedded systems, infotainment, Android Automotive, Linux IVI, QNX, Yocto/OpenEmbedded, ARM platforms, distributed build systems, remote build execution, build caching, artifact repositories, static analysis, code quality, security scanning, and internal developer platforms.
  • Preferred experience includes Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, SonarQube, Artifactory, compliance and release processes, machine learning for DevOps, AI-powered development tools, LLM-based code analysis, automated root cause analysis, MLOps, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.
