Security Operations Engineer

Responsibilities
- Assist with developing, testing, maintaining, and documenting SOAR playbooks, workflows, scripts, and integrations.
- Identify repetitive manual security operations tasks and implement automation to improve response speed.
- Collaborate with security analysts and Information Security teams to understand workflows and improve automation capabilities.
- Assist with SOAR platform maintenance, routine updates, tool migrations, and logging system changes.
- Troubleshoot and create basic scripts for API integrations under the guidance of senior team members.
Requirements
- 1–3 years of experience in a Security Engineering role.
- Solid understanding of core security concepts and exposure to SOAR, SIEM, EDR, and threat intelligence platforms.
- Foundational Python or similar scripting skills, including the ability to read, troubleshoot, and write basic API-integration scripts.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, documentation, written communication, and collaboration skills.
- SOC analyst or IT support technician experience is preferred.
- Familiarity or academic/lab experience with a SOAR platform such as Palo Alto Networks Cortex XSOAR, Tines, or Splunk SOAR is preferred.
- Exposure to Go, Bash, PowerShell, or JavaScript is preferred.
- Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK or NIST is preferred.
- Entry-to-intermediate certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CySA+, GISF, or GSEC are preferred.
