Responsibilities
- Design, implement, verify, deploy, and operationalize high-throughput, low-latency real-time services.
- Participate in requirements gathering, technical design, estimation, sprint planning, coding, testing, deployment, and on-call support.
- Own, operate, and maintain services in a distributed production environment.
- Collaborate with product managers, stakeholders, leads, architects, and cross-functional teams to deliver scalable customer solutions.
- Scale globally distributed voice infrastructure for high availability, reliability, throughput, low latency, and media fidelity.
- Evaluate AI-generated code for correctness, security, performance, and maintainability.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience with large-scale distributed applications using JVM-based technologies.
- Experience building RESTful services, designing APIs, and working with event-driven architectures such as Kafka and SQS.
- Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure such as AWS, GCP, OpenStack, or Azure.
- Strong Java fundamentals and the ability to architect, review, and debug code.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and strong computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems.
- Experience using AI coding assistants such as Claude, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar tools.
- Excellent written communication and technical documentation skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related engineering field.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team setting.
- Preferred experience includes on-call rotations, incident response, monitoring and alerting tools, scalable SQL/NoSQL databases and caching technologies, production backend systems, SIP, and Stir/Shaken.
