Responsibilities
- Prepare technical design specifications and written knowledge-transfer materials.
- Review functional requirements, analysis, and design documents and provide feedback.
- Implement, test, maintain, and support software based on technical specifications.
- Lead architecture, design, and implementation of robust, highly scalable web services.
- Improve system quality by identifying issues and patterns and developing standard operating procedures.
- Enhance applications by identifying improvement opportunities and designing and implementing solutions.
- Maintain existing codebases, peer review code changes, and participate in architecture and code reviews.
- Investigate and apply relevant new technologies, including AI-native engineering practices.
- Assist customer support with technical problems and questions.
- Lead or participate in projects and mentor less experienced developers.
- Collaborate with colleagues and cross-functional teams to implement technical designs and deliver outcomes.
Requirements
- At least 7.5 years of Java full-stack development experience.
- At least 7 years of experience developing systems or software for large business environments and Java Enterprise Edition.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; a master’s degree is a plus.
- At least 7 years of experience developing mission-critical and low-latency solutions for large business environments.
- At least 5 years of experience developing and debugging distributed systems and working with cloud-based big data systems.
- Strong object-oriented design and service-oriented architecture principles, preferably implemented in Java.
- Strong experience leading architecture, design, and implementation of scalable web services.
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure SaaS infrastructure, DevOps technologies, and extensive debugging.
- Understanding of unit, test-driven, functional, and performance testing.
- Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database systems and data architecture.
- Experience with React, Pulsar, and Snowflake is a plus.
- Knowledge of software security-enhancing tools and practices and at least one shell scripting language.
- Understanding of big data, machine learning, LLMs, automation, and engineering toolchains.
- Ability to translate AI innovation into business and productivity impact and operate across strategic, architectural, and implementation levels.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, presentation, facilitation, decision-making, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
