Responsibilities
- Contribute across architecture, design, estimation, implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Design and develop reliable, scalable, maintainable cloud-native services using Java and Spring Boot.
- Design and implement service-to-service communication using gRPC and RESTful APIs.
- Build automated tests and incorporate quality, security, observability, and operational readiness into development.
- Develop and integrate microservices, RESTful APIs, gRPC services, and event-driven systems in distributed cloud environments.
- Build and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure using Terraform and other Infrastructure as Code practices.
- Monitor and troubleshoot production services, contribute to incident resolution and root-cause analysis, and improve system reliability.
- Collaborate with product managers, architects, and engineers to translate requirements into product capabilities.
- Participate in code reviews, design reviews, technical discussions, and engineering decisions.
- Improve engineering practices, CI/CD workflows, development processes, and team productivity using AI-assisted development tools where appropriate.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 3 years of professional software development experience building production-grade applications with Java.
- Strong proficiency in Java, object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithms, and software engineering fundamentals.
- Hands-on experience with Spring and Spring Boot, microservices, gRPC, RESTful APIs, Protocol Buffers, and service contract design.
- Experience with AWS services such as SQS, S3, DynamoDB, IAM, and Lambda, or comparable cloud services.
- Experience with Terraform or similar Infrastructure as Code technologies.
- Understanding of distributed systems, asynchronous processing, scalable cloud architectures, software design patterns, clean-code principles, and engineering best practices.
- Experience with automated unit, integration, and service-level testing, Git, and modern CI/CD pipelines.
- Hands-on experience using AI-assisted coding and software development tools for code generation, testing, debugging, code understanding, or code review.
- Ability to validate AI-generated code for correctness, security, performance, maintainability, and test coverage.
- Strong analytical, debugging, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Preferred experience includes Guice, large-scale SaaS applications, Apache Flink or other stream-processing technologies, event-driven architectures, high-throughput gRPC services, observability, BlazeMeter or similar performance-testing tools, shell scripting, shared platform services, and secure, highly available cloud development.
