Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical subject matter expert by mentoring engineers, demonstrating technical expertise, and leading a small team on challenging programming and design problems.
- Drive the architectural evolution and modernization of core tax engines and complex enterprise systems.
- Evaluate design approaches and tools, build frameworks, and improve existing systems.
- Troubleshoot issues and establish or use appropriate monitoring, alerting, and logging systems.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Intuit teams across US and India time zones and geographically distributed engineering centers.
- Work independently while managing multiple stakeholders and resolving issues effectively.
Requirements
- 15+ years of experience working in an enterprise hosting complex systems.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud infrastructure.
- Experience with programming languages such as C#, Java, Go, Python, or Kotlin, preferably C#.
- 10+ years of experience with backend integration, web services, APIs, gRPC, REST/OData/GraphQL, JSON, XML, and Protocol Buffers.
- Experience hosting and managing Spring Boot web services and Java applications in AWS and Kubernetes.
- Strong understanding of container systems and orchestration platforms such as Docker, ECS/EKS, and Kubernetes.
- Experience with unit, functional, scale, and load testing tools including Chai, Mocha, Jasmine, Karma, WebDriver, Nightwatch, and JMeter.
- Experience with build systems, CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps and Jenkins, application analytics, monitoring, Git, GitHub, Nexus, and Artifactory.
- Experience with package managers including yum, rpm, and apt, plus a strong Linux/Unix background and advanced Bash scripting skills.
- Strong understanding of security best practices in coding and operations; vulnerability management experience is a plus.
- Experience with metrics, monitoring, and alerting tools such as Splunk, Wavefront, AppDynamics, Prometheus, and PagerDuty.
- Strong communication, troubleshooting, self-management, cross-functional collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
