Responsibilities
- Own always-on reliability and operational excellence for distributed systems on AWS serving millions of customers.
- Architect highly available, secure, and performant cloud-native data systems at multi-million-user scale.
- Design and ship AI-powered AIOps tools for automatic issue detection, triage, and remediation.
- Lead production operations and incident response as part of an on-call rotation.
- Champion resiliency practices including FMEA validation, chaos engineering, and disaster recovery runbooks.
- Improve monitoring, observability, and resolution practices to reduce MTTD and MTTR.
- Automate manual operational procedures and reduce developer toil.
- Drive complex cross-team initiatives, manage dependencies and risk, and deliver programs end to end.
- Partner with platform and leadership teams to remove blockers and promote organization-wide standards.
- Contribute to engineering culture through root-cause analyses, best practices, and technology decisions.
Requirements
- 8+ years of hands-on development and operational experience building and maintaining AWS infrastructure.
- Deep expertise in at least one SRE discipline, including automation, monitoring, DevOps, or cloud operations.
- Deep AWS and Kubernetes expertise, including cloud hosting, high-availability architectures, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Hands-on knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and ArgoCD.
- Proficiency in Go, Java, Python, or Ruby for application development and DevOps automation.
- Extensive observability and performance experience using tools such as Splunk, Wavefront, AppDynamics, Prometheus, or distributed tracing.
- Strong understanding of SSDLC and CI/CD pipelines and the judgment to evolve them safely at scale.
- Proven technical leadership, independently driven initiatives, and data-backed evidence of impact.
- Strong production diagnostic skills and the ability to resolve pre-production and production issues under pressure.
- Clear communication, collaboration, initiative, adaptability, and willingness to handle unglamorous work when needed.
