Base Salary
$207k - $300k/yr
Responsibilities
- Drive application and mobile infrastructure and quality-platform initiatives to improve consistency, scalability, and developer velocity.
- Lead engineering efforts to eliminate crashes, improve state-sync latency, and resolve functional detractors.
- Own system health by improving latency, memory footprint, crash rates, and crash-free user rates.
- Guide migration to the Google Home Platform and deprecate legacy application infrastructure.
- Oversee deployment pipelines, build and release flags, on-call operations, and automated self-service infrastructure delivery.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in software development.
- 5 years of experience testing and launching software products focused on Android systems or Android architecture.
- 5 years of full-stack development experience across back-end Java, Python, Golang, or C++ codebases and front-end JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
- 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
- Preferred: Master's degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Preferred: Experience serving as a technical lead and architect, setting architectural direction, and mentoring senior engineers across multiple work streams.
- Preferred: Experience managing complex system health issues, app reliability, large-scale technical migrations, and automated regression testing.
- Preferred: Strong product sense and experience with smart-home technologies, IoT, Matter, Thread, BLE, and CSAT.
- Preferred: Experience driving cross-functional initiatives and improving engineering velocity through infrastructure automation.
