Responsibilities
- Design and implement new features and technologies across existing enterprise applications and new strategic initiatives.
- Develop complete features spanning frontend components and backend systems.
- Participate in requirements analysis, architectural and database design, implementation, testing, launching, and the full software development lifecycle.
- Improve system performance, resiliency, operational efficiency, and long-term architecture.
- Own delivery of application or system components and serve as a technical lead on small to midsize complex projects.
- Conduct design and code reviews, generate project estimates and risk assessments, and track work and status.
- Mentor team members and contribute to development standards, procedures, and organizational improvements.
- Communicate project and team status to project managers and directors and occasionally act as Team Lead.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional software development experience.
- Knowledge of object-oriented design patterns, distributed databases, and data modeling techniques.
- Proficiency in Enterprise Java programming and one or more of Ruby, Python, or C#.
- Experience developing distributed and scalable systems and high-volume transaction applications.
- Expertise with UI technologies including JavaScript, AJAX, CSS, and HTML.
- Experience with web technologies, Visual Basic, and multi-tier architectures.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent is preferred.
- Strong analytical, communication, collaboration, decision-making, adaptability, and multitasking abilities.
