Responsibilities
- Design, implement, test, deploy, and maintain backend software primarily using Java or Go.
- Deliver well-scoped features and technical improvements with increasing independence.
- Build and improve services, APIs, libraries, and tooling for access-related workflows and platform capabilities.
- Write maintainable, well-tested code and participate in code and design reviews.
- Debug production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and troubleshoot distributed systems.
- Improve system reliability, observability, performance, security, and operational readiness.
- Participate in monitoring and incident response responsibilities.
- Collaborate with product, security, infrastructure, and engineering teams to deliver solutions.
- Contribute to documentation, runbooks, engineering standards, and team best practices.
- Identify opportunities to reduce technical debt and simplify systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Software development experience using Java or Go as a primary programming language.
- Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, APIs, testing, debugging, and version control.
- Ability to understand existing codebases and make safe, maintainable changes.
- Experience writing automated tests and diagnosing software defects.
- Familiarity with distributed systems, backend services, cloud infrastructure, or similar production environments.
- Ability to communicate technical ideas clearly and collaborate effectively.
- Ability to own well-defined engineering tasks and drive them through completion.
- Preferred: experience building production backend services and RESTful or RPC-based APIs.
- Preferred: familiarity with authentication, authorization, identity, permissions, or access-control concepts.
- Preferred: experience with cloud platforms, containers, monitoring, observability tooling, infrastructure-as-code, developer productivity tooling, and production service operations.
- Preferred: understanding of security principles and secure software development practices.
