Responsibilities
- Architect, deploy, tune, and secure Elastic Stack solutions across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments.
- Execute legacy security platform migrations, including SPL-to-ES|QL detection translation and analyst workflow modernization.
- Design and implement ingestion pipelines using Elastic Agent, Fleet, Logstash, and Beats.
- Implement federal security controls including TLS, PIV/CAC, SSO/SAML, STIG, and audit logging.
- Build dashboards and advanced Kibana visualizations.
- Develop automation with Ansible, Terraform, or equivalent Infrastructure-as-Code tools.
- Communicate technical decisions and trade-offs to client stakeholders.
- Contribute reusable templates, automation, reference architectures, and other internal intellectual property.
- For senior-level work, lead client engagements from scoping through delivery and identify expansion opportunities.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of production Elastic Stack experience for Journeyman level and above; senior-level candidates need at least 6 years in systems engineering or infrastructure with deep Elastic expertise.
- Understanding of Elastic Stack capabilities, deployment, security, operations, and distributed cluster architecture at scale, including multi-tenant and CCS environments.
- Hands-on experience with containerization and Infrastructure-as-Code tooling.
- Proficiency with at least one major cloud provider.
- Linux CLI fundamentals, basic networking knowledge, and strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Experience with federal security controls including TLS, SSO/SAML, PIV/CAC, and STIG.
- Client-facing communication skills and the ability to translate complex requirements into actionable tasks.
- U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field is beneficial.
- Elastic certifications, Elastic Security, detection translation, scripting with Python, Bash, or PowerShell, AI-augmented search, RAG, semantic search, and professional services or consulting experience are beneficial.
