Responsibilities
- Design and document component, integration, sequence, data-flow, and technical architecture artifacts for assigned initiatives.
- Translate business and technical requirements into implementable application, integration, data, and cloud solution designs.
- Select technology components, integration patterns, and cloud services while evaluating cost, performance, security, and maintainability trade-offs.
- Present designs and technology intake requests to architecture governance forums and incorporate review feedback.
- Design end-to-end AI and agentic solutions, including multi-step workflows, RAG patterns, AI gateways, network isolation, private endpoints, identity, token governance, and observability.
- Design stateful agent workflows with LangGraph and LangChain, including human-in-the-loop and checkpointing patterns.
- Design compliant AI data-access patterns across Azure and Google Cloud data platforms.
- Partner with AI, cybersecurity, IAM, data, and architecture teams on RBAC, guardrails, governance, and solution promotion paths.
- Evaluate and prototype emerging AI vendors, models, and tools and document recommendations and risks.
- Provide technical consultation and mentorship to developers, analysts, and fellow architects; maintain solution decisions, inventories, and vendor records.
- Collaborate with consulting partners and technology vendors on solution delivery and semantic modelling workshops.
- Support departmental activities, on-call responsibilities, and production support for owned solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field; a post-graduate degree is an asset.
- 8+ years of progressive IT experience, including at least 5 years designing and delivering solution, application, or integration architecture for projects or initiatives.
- Hands-on experience designing application, integration, and data solutions and moving them from design through implementation.
- Hands-on experience architecting AI and agentic solutions on Microsoft Azure and/or Google Cloud Platform, including networking, private endpoints or VPC-SC, managed identity, and IAM patterns.
- Practical experience with LangGraph, LangChain, and LangSmith, plus familiarity with Model Context Protocol and Agent2Agent protocol.
- Working knowledge of Responsible AI, model governance, and AI risk and compliance considerations, including OSFI B-13/E-23 expectations.
- Strong knowledge of microservices, RESTful, event-driven, and cloud-native architecture patterns, plus relational and NoSQL databases.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Fabric, Synapse, and Power BI for data-platform integration.
- Preferred certifications include Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure AI Engineer Associate, or equivalent, and Google Cloud Professional Machine Learning Engineer or equivalent.
- Banking or financial-services experience and familiarity with Canadian regulatory expectations are strongly preferred.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, presentation, technical documentation, and design-facilitation skills are required.
