Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain applications using JavaScript and Node.js.
- Develop user interfaces with React or comparable modern front-end technologies.
- Build and integrate REST APIs and web services.
- Integrate with Java-based microservices and understand end-to-end application flows.
- Use SQL and PostgreSQL to retrieve, validate, and troubleshoot application data.
- Write clean, reusable, well-tested code focused on maintainability.
- Investigate application and production issues and perform root-cause analysis through resolution.
- Support releases, deployments, production operations, CI/CD improvements, and automated testing.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with JavaScript and professional experience with Node.js.
- Experience using React or another modern front-end framework to build user interfaces.
- Experience building and integrating REST APIs, with a strong understanding of HTTP and web services.
- Ability to develop across front-end and back-end layers and deliver end-to-end functionality.
- Knowledge of SQL and relational database concepts for validating and interpreting application data.
- Experience with Git, code reviews, engineering standards, automated testing, and CI/CD practices.
- Ability to resolve application and production issues involving complex behavior and business logic.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada; HSBC will not provide immigration sponsorship for this position.
