Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain life insurance calculations in ProductXpress and other illustration-platform components.
- Design, develop, test, deploy, support, and troubleshoot full-stack capabilities using C#, .NET, F#, React, APIs, and microservices.
- Build reusable, secure, reliable, and maintainable application components and containerized services in Azure Kubernetes Service.
- Develop automated tests for calculation logic, services, APIs, integrations, and user-facing functionality.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement preventive improvements.
- Contribute to architecture, system design, integration, security, resiliency, and maintainability discussions.
- Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, quality engineers, architects, and engineering squads to turn business requirements into technical solutions.
- Participate in code reviews, knowledge sharing, documentation, and continuous improvement of engineering practices.
- Use GitHub, automated testing, builds, deployments, releases, Jira, Confluence, and Microsoft 365 in a distributed Agile team.
- Use AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot responsibly while following security and governance practices.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of professional full-stack software engineering experience, preferably with enterprise or business-critical applications.
- Professional experience with C# and .NET, including building, testing, and supporting APIs and microservices.
- Experience with F# or functional programming and interest in becoming productive in an F# codebase.
- Experience developing web applications with React and JavaScript or TypeScript.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, preferably Azure Kubernetes Service, and relational database technology such as Microsoft SQL Server or Azure SQL Database.
- Experience with GitHub, pull requests, code reviews, automated testing, and modern CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of software architecture, system design, design patterns, SOLID principles, distributed systems, and secure software development.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Preferred: experience in life insurance, financial services, calculation-intensive industries, or ProductXpress or a similar platform.
- Preferred: experience with Java, Spring Boot, Helm, Terraform, Flux, Istio, New Relic, automated regression testing, test-driven development, or behavior-driven development.
- Preferred: experience translating complex business, financial, or actuarial rules into maintainable software and working with Jira, Confluence, and Microsoft 365.
