Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain an end-to-end architectural understanding of Finance data flows, including actuarial and risk systems.
- Identify optimization opportunities across data flows, transformation logic, controls, platforms, and delivery processes.
- Translate business and technology needs into clear, pragmatic solution designs.
- Partner with engineering teams to validate assumptions, remove ambiguity, and ensure architectural decisions are implemented effectively.
- Work with product owners and business stakeholders on finance processes, reporting needs, controls, and data quality expectations.
- Design scalable, resilient, and governed solutions for data ingestion, transformation, validation, lineage, and consumption.
- Assess solution options and communicate recommendations, dependencies, risks, and architectural trade-offs.
- Promote automation, observability, reusability, documentation, and evidence-based architecture practices.
- Use real data, process insight, and stakeholder feedback to validate solution outcomes.
- Bridge business, architecture, product, and engineering teams throughout delivery.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of relevant hands-on experience in architecture, solution design, or engineering within financial services.
- Hands-on software development lifecycle experience and a track record of working closely with engineering teams.
- Strong understanding of data models, data flows, transformation logic, data quality, lineage, controls, reporting, analytics, and downstream applications.
- Ability to understand complex business and technology landscapes and turn ambiguity into clear direction.
- Ability to explain problems, options, trade-offs, and recommendations through diagrams, structured thinking, questions, and concise documentation.
- Ability to move between strategic architecture and detailed solution design, including interfaces, controls, data flows, transformation logic, and implementation details.
- Experience applying AI tooling effectively and appropriately to improve analysis, design, documentation, collaboration, or delivery.
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Preferably experience with Apache Spark, Python, SQL, and Databricks.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure and integration with SAP financial systems is an additional advantage.

- Base salary in Switzerland ranges from CHF 128,000 to CHF 192,000 for a full-time role.
