Responsibilities

  • Design and implement robust, scalable, and secure software solutions while anticipating failure scenarios, technical costs, and future evolution.
  • Ensure effective coverage across unit, integration, contract, UAT, mutation, regression, stress, positive, and negative testing.
  • Conduct advanced debugging of multicomponent systems and critical incidents, including root-cause analysis and prevention.
  • Define and evolve metrics, logs, tracing, alerts, and operational improvements for stability, performance, and cost.
  • Influence and review architectural decisions, promoting modularity, simplification, resilience, and reduction of technical debt.
  • Apply secure-by-design practices and review code for vulnerabilities and compliance with internal guidelines.
  • Break down complex work, prioritize based on dependencies and risk, communicate trade-offs, and own critical deliveries.
  • Improve engineering processes including code review, release flow, incident management, and CI/CD.
  • Mentor less experienced professionals, share technical knowledge, facilitate technical meetings, and coordinate with engineering, product, business, and security teams.
  • Lead or participate in strategic engineering initiatives and meetings with business platforms.

Requirements

  • Deep knowledge of software design, including modularity, bounded contexts, architectural patterns, and systematic refactoring.
  • Strong experience with advanced testing, quality pipelines, observability, SLO/SLA concepts, alert optimization, and non-functional testing.
  • Expertise in distributed debugging using correlated logs, tracing, concurrency analysis, and performance degradation analysis.
  • Advanced Git skills, including complex workflows, strategic code review, and automation.
  • Mature security practices including secure coding, secrets management, vulnerability mitigation, and basic threat modeling.
  • Experience with CI/CD, automation, deployment reliability, legacy modernization, and risk mitigation plans.
  • Understanding of operational cost factors such as latency, throughput, memory, and horizontal versus vertical scalability.
  • Familiarity with REST, gRPC, asynchronous integration, events, and their implications.
  • Ability to use logs, metrics, infrastructure cost, errors, and trends to drive technical decisions.
  • Theoretical knowledge of cloud concepts and AWS tools.
  • Preferred qualifications include cross-team initiative leadership, critical incident management, actionable post-mortems, Domain-Driven Design, Event-Driven Architecture, Chaos Engineering, internal library or corporate standard contributions, technical publications or talks, insurance business knowledge, and test automation.
