Responsibilities
- Write, read, debug, and maintain production-quality software for a large-scale real-time market data platform.
- Build dashboards, instrumentation toolkits, and self-service platform capabilities for operational workflows.
- Design interfaces and applications that integrate components across the distributed system.
- Assess production supportability of new features and improve system designs to reduce operational load.
- Analyze system behavior, performance, availability, and unexpected failures.
- Support incident response and contribute to blameless postmortems.
Requirements
- Experience with an object-oriented programming language such as C, C++, Python, or Java.
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a similar field, or equivalent work experience.
- Prior contributions to system design and architecture for scaling fault-tolerant, distributed systems.
- In-depth knowledge of Linux/Unix.
- Ability to present working solutions in a high-level programming language; Bloomberg primarily uses C++ and Python.
- Passion for performance excellence, robustness, and sound engineering practices.
- Ability to collaborate with peers, partners, and management.
