Responsibilities
- Architect, develop, and optimize generative AI applications focused on model evaluation, RAG, and prompt engineering.
- Build end-to-end RAG pipelines covering ingestion, chunking, embeddings, retrieval, and re-ranking.
- Design AI data storage using vector search in Snowflake and relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
- Analyze and integrate data from multiple sources and prepare it for AI-driven solutions.
- Experiment with OpenAI, Anthropic, and Azure OpenAI models to improve performance, reliability, and applicability.
- Establish engineering practices for testing, observability, security, and performance optimization of GenAI applications.
- Collaborate with the AI platform team to standardize and scale AI capabilities across BMW Group.
- Work with business units to apply AI models to real-world use cases and share expertise in Generative AI, LLM orchestration, and software engineering.
Requirements
- University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 7 years of professional software engineering experience, with a strong focus on backend or data-intensive applications.
- Strong proficiency in Python and experience building production systems.
- Strong understanding of software development best practices, including clean code, unit and integration testing, code reviews, and CI/CD.
- Hands-on experience with LLM APIs such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or Azure OpenAI and orchestration frameworks such as LangGraph.
- Proven experience with RAG architectures, vector databases, and embeddings.
- Experience with data ingestion and preprocessing for LLM applications, including ETL, data pipelines, and document processing.
- Experience implementing guardrails, safety checks, and evaluation frameworks for LLM applications.
- Familiarity with MLOps or LLMOps practices for deploying, monitoring, and maintaining AI models and AI-enabled services in production.
- Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and English communication skills.
