Responsibilities
- Develop, customize, and maintain WordPress websites, custom themes, and plugins.
- Translate Figma and Adobe XD mockups into responsive WordPress implementations.
- Configure WordPress plugins including WooCommerce, Advanced Custom Fields, Elementor, and Yoast.
- Optimize page speed, Core Web Vitals, caching, and images.
- Implement on-page SEO and collaborate with SEO specialists.
- Apply WordPress security practices, manage plugins and updates, and handle migrations, backups, and hosting configurations.
- Build and customize WooCommerce stores, product pages, checkout flows, and payment integrations.
- Troubleshoot bugs, errors, and compatibility issues and provide technical support to content editors.
- Maintain documentation for custom development work.
Requirements
- 2–4 years of professional WordPress development experience.
- Proficiency in PHP, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript for WordPress development.
- Experience building custom themes and plugins from scratch or through child themes.
- Strong understanding of WordPress core architecture, hooks, filters, and the WP REST API.
- Experience with performance optimization and page-speed best practices.
- Familiarity with Git and deployment workflows.
- Knowledge of website security best practices within the WordPress ecosystem.
- Preferred experience includes WooCommerce, headless WordPress, REST API, GraphQL, WPGraphQL, Elementor, Beaver Builder, Divi, WP Engine, Kinsta, Cloudways, SEO collaboration, and Gutenberg block development.
