Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end architecture of the Golang ad proxy, including OpenRTB bid request construction, DSP/SSP fan-out, VAST/VMAP response handling, and SSAI integration points.
- Design systems that meet sub-200ms auction SLAs at production scale and create architecture documents covering component boundaries, failure modes, data contracts, and scalability limits.
- Evaluate architectural alternatives, present trade-offs, and drive consensus with senior architects, engineering, and product stakeholders.
- Define connection pool strategies, goroutine lifecycle management, circuit breakers, and graceful degradation with site reliability teams.
- Lead OpenRTB 2.x/3.0 specification compliance, including bid-request signal quality, impression construction, privacy-signal propagation, and supply-chain transparency.
- Improve fill rate and bid win rate by diagnosing signal gaps, floor-price configuration issues, creative-attribute mismatches, and partner-specific bid logic.
- Own the signal-quality audit framework and drive remediation of degraded device, user, content, and regulatory signals.
- Establish VAST/VMAP error-rate baselines and lead investigations into creative failures, timeout spikes, and impression discrepancies with AdOps.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 8 years of software development experience using Golang.
- Prior experience developing performant OpenRTB workflows.
- Strong proficiency in SQL.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCS.
- Strong advertising-technology background, including ad serving and advertising and privacy signals.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to collaborate effectively.
- Knowledge of additional programming languages or frameworks such as Java, JavaScript, or Python.
