Base Salary
$237k - $288k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define Crusoe’s BMC architecture and stack strategy across current and future server platforms.
- Lead BMC bring-up for new platforms, including kernel, U-Boot, device tree, sensors, thermal and fan control, power sequencing, and host interfaces.
- Own BMC build, signing, CI/CD, release, update, rollback, and fleet reliability processes.
- Drive BMC security architecture covering secure boot, root of trust, attestation, SPDM, signed updates, firmware resiliency, and CVE response.
- Lead technical relationships with ODM and OEM partners, including requirements, architecture reviews, prototyping, qualification, and production readiness.
- Build BMC telemetry and observability for sensor, power, thermal, and RAS data within Crusoe Cloud’s operations and SRE systems.
- Investigate systemic BMC fleet issues and define reliability objectives and firmware deployment strategies.
- Hire, mentor, and scale the BMC engineering team while shaping engineering standards and hardware roadmap decisions.
Requirements
- 8+ years of firmware engineering experience with deep hands-on BMC experience.
- Hands-on expertise with a production BMC stack such as OpenBMC or AMI MegaRAC, including embedded Linux, U-Boot, and device tree layers.
- Experience leading BMC bring-up on new server platforms using schematics, I2C/PMBus maps, GPIO assignments, and power sequencing.
- Strong C/C++ skills on embedded Linux and comfort with Python or shell for automation and tooling.
- Deep familiarity with IPMI 2.0, Redfish, PLDM, MCTP, and NC-SI.
- Hands-on debugging experience with eSPI, LPC, IPMB, KCS, and BT host interfaces.
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with ODM/OEM BMC firmware partnerships and Yocto/BitBake is strongly preferred.
- Production BMC fleet experience, BMC security experience, and familiarity with DC-MHS, DC-SCM, and OCP hardware management are preferred.
- Experience growing firmware teams, contributing to OpenBMC, working with GPU server platforms, or developing host, CPLD, or retimer firmware is a bonus.
