Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Java backend services and APIs.
- Build Oracle database queries, schema changes, and data-layer functionality.
- Contribute to Angular frontend features while growing frontend expertise.
- Translate requirements into clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
- Debug issues, fix defects, and improve application performance.
- Use AI tools to understand code, generate code and tests, debug, and write documentation while validating all output.
- Share effective AI development techniques with teammates.
- Participate in code reviews and collaborate with the Italian development team.
- Write practical technical documentation and own features through production.
Requirements
- Typically 2–5 years of professional software development experience.
- Experience with Java 8+, Spring Boot or JAX-RS, and JPA/Hibernate or another ORM.
- Good SQL skills with relational databases; Oracle is preferred, while PostgreSQL or MySQL are accepted.
- Regular hands-on use of AI development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar.
- Familiarity with Git, code review, and Agile ways of working.
- Strong problem-solving, independent working, teamwork, and communication skills.
- Professional-level written and verbal English.
- Nice-to-have experience includes TypeScript, Angular 2+, HTML5, CSS/Sass, Oracle PL/SQL, prompt and context engineering, AI agents, Docker, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, AWS, Azure, DigitalOcean, JBoss WildFly, Keycloak, OAuth 2, JWT, ActiveMQ/AMQ, or Elasticsearch.
