Responsibilities
- Design and develop robust backend applications with C#, .NET, and ASP.NET Core.
- Design REST APIs, application services, background workers, integrations, and distributed systems.
- Own PostgreSQL schemas, queries, migrations, transactions, data access patterns, and performance.
- Deploy and operate applications using Azure hosting, database, storage, messaging, identity, monitoring, and infrastructure services.
- Implement secure authentication, authorization, identity, configuration, scaling, observability, and resilience practices.
- Use Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Docker, and automated deployment pipelines.
- Build frontend dashboards, forms, administration interfaces, and workflows using React, TypeScript, and Next.js when needed.
- Use AI coding tools and agents for code generation, codebase analysis, refactoring, testing, debugging, and documentation.
- Write automated unit, integration, and API tests; investigate production issues and deliver sustainable fixes.
- Review code and maintain engineering standards across AI-generated and human-authored changes.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional software development experience is ideally required, including significant C#/.NET experience.
- Strong expertise in modern C#, .NET, ASP.NET Core, backend architecture, API design, asynchronous programming, and application architecture.
- Solid PostgreSQL experience with schema design, SQL optimization, transactions, indexing, and database performance.
- Hands-on Azure experience covering application hosting, Azure Database for PostgreSQL, messaging, identity, deployment, and monitoring.
- Experience with Entity Framework Core or another mature .NET data access approach.
- Experience with Docker, deployment pipelines, cloud deployment workflows, automated testing, debugging, and code review.
- Practical React and TypeScript experience, with familiarity with Next.js or the ability to learn it quickly.
- Regular hands-on use of Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or comparable AI coding environments.
- Strong understanding of application security, reliability, maintainability, and production software engineering.
- Preferred experience includes .NET performance optimization, Azure Container Apps, AKS, serverless or distributed systems, Azure Service Bus, Event Grid, authentication standards, Terraform, Bicep, Redis, Azure OpenAI, MCP integrations, coding agents, and developer automation tools.
