Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and sustain reusable Core Flight System flight software components.
- Perform requirements analysis, architecture definition, software design, coding, unit testing, integration testing, and formal build testing.
- Integrate cFS components into customer flight software environments and support multiple cFS customers.
- Participate in code reviews, peer reviews, technical demonstrations, design reviews, customer meetings, and technical presentations.
- Investigate issues, troubleshoot defects, implement corrective actions, and perform sustaining engineering and software updates.
- Develop and execute automated unit and integration tests and support CI/CD processes and automated build environments.
- Support flight software laboratory configuration, hardware integration, hardware maintenance, and embedded development environments.
- Produce software, design, testing, status, and project documentation in accordance with NASA software engineering processes.
Requirements
- Seven years of professional experience developing embedded or flight software systems.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Strong software development experience with C, C++, and Python.
- Experience developing embedded software applications and flight or other safety- or mission-critical software.
- Experience with Linux development environments, real-time operating systems, Git, CI/CD processes, and Docker.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to pass NASA badging and onboarding requirements under applicable federal security policies.
- Preferred qualifications include OpenC3 COSMOS or similar mission operations tools, API implementation, systems engineering, secure software development, AI/ML or data architecture, FDIR, GEONS or estimation/filtering algorithms, Xilinx/Zynq/PicoZed platforms, VxWorks, and RTEMS.
- Experience as a Software Development Team Lead, Software Lead, or Software Sustaining Engineering Lead is highly desirable.
- Experience supporting NASA, DoD, aerospace, government software programs, reusable flight software frameworks, or mission software architectures is preferred.
