Responsibilities
- Design and implement storage-protocol hardware offload for NVMe-oF, encryption, compression, checksums, and erasure coding on DPUs and SmartNICs.
- Build and maintain control-plane integrations for provisioning, health, telemetry, and failover of DPU-resident offload services.
- Partner with Storage Networking and Compute/Hypervisor teams on RDMA/RoCE, NVMe-oF, SR-IOV, and vDPA-based DPU virtualization.
- Evaluate and integrate vendor DPU SDKs and frameworks such as NVIDIA DOCA and BlueField SNAP.
- Build observability and testing infrastructure for DPU-offloaded paths.
- Drive IOPS, throughput, latency, and host-CPU-cycle-saved benchmarking.
- Serve as the storage team’s technical lead for DPU architecture decisions and hardware-vendor collaboration.
Requirements
- 10+ years of professional software engineering experience with hands-on systems programming in C, C++, or Rust and production control-plane or orchestration experience in Go, Java, or similar.
- Direct production experience with SmartNICs or DPUs, including NVIDIA BlueField, Intel IPU, ConnectX 6/7, or comparable hardware-offload platforms.
- Working knowledge of NVMe-oF, RDMA, RoCE, InfiniBand, and storage protocols commonly accelerated by DPUs.
