Responsibilities
- Lead architecture and delivery of production-critical AI-native systems, including LLM integrations, agentic workflows, retrieval pipelines, and inference services.
- Own end-to-end feature and system delivery from specification through implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring, and production support.
- Design evaluation frameworks, testing strategies, monitoring, and guardrails for AI-driven features.
- Design and optimize data pipelines, embedding systems, and vector stores at scale.
- Develop software using Python, Java, and JavaScript and troubleshoot distributed systems, probabilistic models, cloud infrastructure, and model behavior.
- Develop ServiceNow applications, extensions, workflows, business rules, integrations, plugins, dashboards, and data models.
- Integrate third-party AI/ML services and APIs with ServiceNow platform services.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, conduct code and architecture reviews, contribute to hiring, and lead technical initiatives.
- Collaborate with product, domain, engineering, customer success, support, customers, and external partners.
- Lead customer issue triage, root cause analysis, escalations, documentation, and product improvement feedback.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software development with a bachelor's degree, 6+ years with a master's degree, 3+ years with a PhD, or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years working with modern cloud-native and AI-native systems.
- 3+ years of hands-on LLM prompt engineering, agent design, and retrieval systems such as RAG, semantic search, and knowledge bases.
- 3+ years integrating third-party AI/ML services and platform APIs.
- 2+ years developing applications and extensions on the ServiceNow platform.
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript/GlideScript, Python, and Java, with familiarity with ServiceNow scripting patterns and APIs.
- Understanding of the ServiceNow data model, form and workflow design, and business process automation.
- Experience with REST and streaming APIs, backend frameworks such as Spring Boot and FastAPI, data pipelines, embedding systems, and vector stores.
- Expertise with LLM orchestration frameworks and vector databases such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, Semantic Kernel, Pinecone, Weaviate, and pgvector.
- Experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, managed AI services, infrastructure-as-code, Kubernetes, containerization, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and AI evaluation harnesses.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex distributed and probabilistic systems, communicate with technical and non-technical audiences, engage customers, and mentor engineers.
- Experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies and a record of owning and delivering significant technical initiatives.
