Responsibilities
- Build and evolve mission-critical commercialization tools and systems.
- Develop user-facing internal products in collaboration with Product, UX, and engineering teams across sites.
- Work on cross-cutting problems spanning mobile applications, cloud backends, and the Waymo Driver.
- Collaborate with operations, product, legal, partnerships, policy, and privacy stakeholders to deliver business-critical infrastructure.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Five years of experience in mobile development.
- Experience with modern Android application development.
- Experience in backend development using Java, Kotlin, C++, or Go.
- Experience using AI development tools such as Claude Code, Gemini CLI, or Codex.
- Preferred experience building data visualization or data-management applications.
- Preferred experience collaborating with UX and interaction design teams.
- Preferred experience with reliability monitoring and alerting, security and privacy practices, documentation, integration testing, production hygiene, and support processes.
- Ability to communicate with software developers and cross-functional stakeholders across levels and sites.
