Responsibilities
- Own enterprise API adoption features such as usage insights, cost and consumption controls, and governance tooling.
- Design and build enterprise governance and compliance controls including roles, permissions, projects, data residency, and auditability.
- Own services end to end through production operations, API on-call participation, contract testing, monitoring, SLOs, and reliability improvements.
- Architect across DeepL’s enterprise ecosystem and coordinate dependencies across stakeholder teams to deliver cohesive capabilities.
Requirements
- Deep expertise designing scalable backend systems, APIs, and distributed architectures primarily with C# and .NET.
- Experience working with high-scale distributed systems in production and strong API design and system design fundamentals.
- Frontend experience with React and TypeScript is welcome but not required.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise API building blocks including MCP, CLIs, and OAuth.
- Track record of leading projects across multiple teams and managing cross-team contracts, dependencies, and stakeholder alignment.
- Experience owning production operations, incident response, on-call responsibilities, testing, monitoring, and SLOs.
- Ability to use AI-powered development tools such as Claude Code, Codex, or GitHub Copilot.
- Preferred experience with zero-downtime migrations, metering, quota or usage-data systems, and compliance environments such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, or C5.
