Base Salary
$180k - $230k/yr
Responsibilities
- Set technical direction for quality across the engineering organization, including test pyramid strategy, coverage thresholds, release criteria, and tooling choices.
- Build and own AI evaluation infrastructure, metrics, and regression frameworks for agentic product features.
- Develop shared automation frameworks and libraries and pair with engineers on test design.
- Use AI tools in quality engineering work and coach Quality Engineers to apply them critically and effectively.
- Own postmortems, root-cause analysis practices, and the organization-wide quality scorecard.
- Coach embedded Quality Engineers, run the QE community of practice, and help set the hiring bar for QE roles.
- Drive adoption of quality practices across teams through technical credibility, shared tooling, and standardized frameworks.
- Partner with the VP of Engineering and Engineering Managers on quality culture, infrastructure, and engineering strategy.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in Quality Engineering, SDET, or equivalent software engineering roles with a quality focus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Deep hands-on automation and coding experience in modern SaaS environments.
- Experience driving quality practices across multiple teams without direct authority.
- Experience building evaluations for LLM-based or agentic features and familiarity with an evaluation framework such as LangSmith, Braintrust, or DeepEval.
- Proficiency with a modern automation framework such as Playwright or Cypress and at least one of TypeScript, Python, or Go.
- Experience with blameless postmortems and structured root-cause analysis practices.
- Comfort with observability and product analytics platforms such as Sentry, Datadog, Pendo, or Amplitude.
- Track record of quality transformation or quality programs for enterprise SaaS products, ideally in B2B, FinTech, or PropTech.
- Experience using AI coding tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or Claude, with disciplined validation of generated output.
- Strong organizational, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
